Dr. John Hole was born in New Jersey in 1755. He moved west following the American Revolution. He was the first physician in Dayton, Ohio. He was a direct descendant of Egbert, the first King of England and of Alfred the Great. Asa Isham was a pioneer physician in Jackson, Ohio. He was the maternal grandfather of Dr. Asa C. Messenger.
